When I first moved to the Digital Patient Experience Transformation team in the fall of 2018 I was tasked to hire 9 employees and build my team. However I wasn’t the only leader who staring down the barrel of this massive undertaking as this was a new area of the organization being stood up.

If you have ever done hiring before you know it can be a very time consuming process and there are often a lot of individuals involved across numerous phases of a candidates interview process. Interviewing is also a bit of a learned art – making sure you are asking “the right” questions to fully evaluate a candidates true competencies.

To help my peers strengthen their interview processes, and to ensure we were evaluating candidates across the same skills I created an interview guide that became a core piece of our departments hiring process. I created this guide extending off of the framework already established by HR for our performance review process. It’s broken down across 12 sections which include insights on what to look for, what to watch out for and sample questions.
